Good product, was replacing one that was stolen this one was an upgrade from the last one. I did notice not completely up to date with locations. Tried looking on line for updated map and the site claims none available. Very useful having AAA information included.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

This GPS is full of features. In fact, based on what I have read about other top of the line GPS's, there isn't another GPS out there that has as many features as this one. The only negatives that I can think of is that at this price range, other companies give you free lifetime Traffic Update. Magellan does not. Also, the built in speaker is not loud enough. I also read on numerous sites that their customer service was horrible but I had no problem the one time that I called. The accuacy could be a little better butg all GPS's are a little off from time to time. If you can get this for [$] then buy it. Anything more than that, I would go with the Garmin 765T.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

My household owned a Garmin and when I began to travel out of town a second GPS was needed. I decided to try out a Magellan. So far, I have not been disappointed. The 4350 works well. The features I like are: speed limit display, traffic alerts, ability to re-route to avoid certain roads, fast re-calculation, speed of satellite aquisition, and the accuracy. The only con is that is has locked up twice in less than 2 months, but once you reset it, the device still recalls your current destination. I would purchase again.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

I loved the 4250 so when I dropped it, naturally I assumed the 4350 was just as good, if not better. Who knew they would "fix" what wasn't broken and change things for the worse. It doesn't state names of exits off frwy, only exit numbers, most of which are not even marked. It takes you in long circuitous routes that don't make sense if you know the area. I don't know why they changed it so much but stay away. It's not as good as the 4250.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

This is an overall great gps and a great value!!
The user friendliness of the unit is excellent..
The outer edge steet names are on the screen as you are navigating which is nice, and the usefulness of the POIs is very accurate, there is an update though that you need to download and makes it a little more user friendly when it comes time to navigate and reroute..The update is a little tricky in doing but you can find a step by step procedure on line by googling maestro 4350 update.. The only negative I really have on this unit is there is some lag time in fliping through the screens..
The unit comes with a free traffic membership for 3 mos..The new update will erase this so make sure you write down the free code before you update or it will lose it..Happy navigating!!
CNET also has a very good write up on this unit!
I have had this unit now for 11 months and just replaced it due to a break in, in my car!

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

With the latest update I think this is a great unit. It's not perfect but it's a good navigator and a very good media player.
I use the media player to play podcasts through the FM transmission on a daily basis. Navigation and media at the same time is well done. The OneTouch feature is a must have.
It has a lot of features so it's not for a non-tech savvy person.
Some software issues could be improved... the MP3's will occasionally skip. The on-screen buttons are too small. If you like managing your own media, I'd highly recommend this unit. Can't wait for the next update.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

We bought this to replace an older off-brand unit. My wife used the Maestro 4250 (previous model) and found it much easier to use than our other GPS.
When I tested the Maestro 4350 on routes that I know well, it always provided good routes. By routes, I mean that it gives several options - fastest, shortest, and most economical. I'm not sure what most economical means, but that is the route that I usually take.
In any case, it is fast, easy to use, and has many features of more expensive units.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

I guess the 4350 is O.K. for the price and features offered. I miss my Roadmate 760. Pros about the 4350 is the onboard battery backup/pwr. The menus are a little tricky to maneuver, but tolerable. Without sound going through your car's equipment, it's too low. And, when going through the car's equipment, you sometimes have to retune in urban areas...very annoying on a busy interstate. While the 4350 isn't the worst I've tried, it still lacks in features I'd like: sound, destination arrow, more user friendly menus. Finally, the traffic subscription service window keeps popping up even though you select "Don't remind me".

Jsut say something not good to make other buyer aware:
The mp3 players seems has some defect. It stops once a while during the play even we disable GPS. My friends tried 2 and mine has this issue as well.
Vidoe player support too few format
FM transmitter is not stable.
Trip planner seems not allow you input address but clicking on the screen. At lease I did not figure out how to input address. It's hard if your destionations are far away.
The English lady speaks like recalcu.....lation sometimes. Also some of pronunciation is strange. I think the processor may not be fast enough, so it can't speak and recalculate.
I mentioned Acquires Satellites Slowly, which means the first time you power on, re-calculation is fast.
I get current location on next street when I'm home. The accuracy is larger than normal range. I think.

This GPS has most popular feature working but need to improve quality.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

I had wanted to find a street that has had homes on it 4 to 5 years. The street is in a populated area of Jacksonville, Fl. The street was not on the GPS map system program. I called Magellan to see if I could get a map update within 7 days of purchase. They said there is no update and they wouldn't send me one when available. I wouldn't complain but 4 or 5 year old street and all the homes on the street...
And Magellan had a poor attitude about our problem. Wouldn't even call me back with a resolution or try to find a resolution. I had destroyed the box it can in already so I couldn't return the unit. I'm not satisfied if the map program is not reasonably up to date- 4 or 5 years out of date is not reasonable to me.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

A friend and I both purchased the 4350 and we are both extremely happy with the performance. My purchase was to upgrade from a Magellan 3100 which I believe is the simplest to use GPS on the market. I was so satisfied with the Magellan that I would not even consider another brand.
The one thing I was not happy with was the fact that it did not "ding" when you were to turn. And it did not tell you what side of the street the destination was on. Upon reading about it I found out that since a lot of people were unhappy about these things Magellan offered a free download to update it and put the "ding" and the reference to the side of the street the destination was on. Ordinarily I would not rate a product high that needed updated right out of the box, but Magellan made the update so easy to do that it was no problem at all.
It has been very accurate for me so far. So I am very well pleased.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

The older Megallen model used to sound a "ping" just
before a turn, this one doesn't.
The Speed Limit display and warning feature is great
but only the highways are covered, local road speeds
are not covered at all. :-(
The online RadioShack price was much better than any
other online retailer.
I have not been able to find the option to select routes based on highway, shortest distance etc.
Many times the directions take me off the fast highway into a slow local road laden with traffic lights, very annoying.
Also on highways the unit wants me to take the exit access lane instead of staying in the main lanes while going on long straight trips.

magellan maestro 4350 works very good. though, im good with directions, it gives me better options on how to go to a certain place and i dont have any problems using it. the ETA precisely adjust to the traffic situation giving you a heads up on what time will you be there. the points of interest menu is a lot of help also specially if your into an unknown place and want to find something. overall, im still testing it compared to other gps but so far i think this is one of the best, especially at the price range i paid.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

This GPS is very helpful. I used it first to go out of town to a wedding and it got me there with no issues. The traffic warnings are great and the reroutes are fast. I only wish that side streets were more up to date and that you can better manage what's save in memory and OneTouch. Deleted one at a time instead of all would be nice. Phone and music functions are cool, but it would be better if there was a quick button to the FM modulation. All in all a great device.

Bought this to replace a Navigon 7100 (that still works great) but the company pulled out of the US Market. This Magellan unit has all of the features the Navigon has (except Lifetime Traffic). Have to pay an annual subscription after the three month trial subscription expires. That is the only "con" I have with it, although it contains the traffic receiver built in which saves a lot of money over other Magellan models and other brands.

I highly recommend this unit!!

basically does a good job, couldn't find some very small towns that were on a printed map, but otherwise performed well and was easy to program once you understand how it thinks. It was difficult to read in sunny conditions as are all others. The voice was also a little under par with other units we have had, the blue tooth worked ok, but I didn't like having to move to a clear frequency each time. I would recommend it if you want a decent mid range gps for [$].

I am so regret to purchase this item. I bought this for my trip to seatle. it did not bring me convenience but trouble only, here is what it has done:

1, battery can not be charged from car(I got an pretty new car, and the power outlet in the car works for other devices).

2, frozen twice in one day.

3, the route on the display is different with the voice instruction.

4, automatically change the destination during the driving.

5, touch screen response is very slow. Sometime not response at all.

I will never buy a magellan again.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

Day one: Received my new gps and as soon as I turned it on it had my current location wrong. For example, I reside at 3 east ridge blvd and the Magellan told me I was at [@] 400 feet away. I called tech assistance 3 times and they couldn"t fix it. I downloaded new programs and repeated their directions 4x. Then while I would be driving, the map would disappear and Id get the advertisement which would lock up the gps and I had to reboot it. Tech fixed that problem. But the maps kept disappearing from the screen still. After the third call they found it was a software problem and sent me another unit.DAY 1: New Unit number 2. As soon as I turned it on this unit did the same thing. IT had my wrong address as my current location. I called tech and the usual nonsense, on the phone for 35 minutes and nothing resolved. I took it for a test run and it worked well, but still told me when I arrived home I was to go another 400 ft to my house, when I was sitting in my driveway. I called Radio Shack and I told them I want my money back. They said if it wasn't a replaced unit, they would've taken it back. I said its only 2 weeks old and brand new, Magellan said not to return it to the dealer, in their instructions. But its not working and I want a refund. They finally said alright. Have any of you had similar problems?

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

I use it everyday as I travel for work. I enjoy the features like the ability to play music, while following your trip and get your phone calls via bluetooth.
But I find it "stutters" during playback of music when I am not tracking directions or using the phone with it. The image will also briefly stop for a second and then resume. This is annoying when listening to a song. After it "stops" the song picks up at the same point it stopped. So it isn't a "mute" that's happpening.
Otherwise, I love it and all the features. It really helps to find my way home from out of the way places. FM Xmitter and Bluetooth are great ideas!

I think that this is probably the most fun and informative to use gps ever!! except for very weak audio that distorts with attempted volume and a screen that totally washes out in sunlight. I must say, however it is the most interesting well designed display and great directions. Bluetooth with motorola tracfone did not work very well (kept on cutting out) I'm not sure this was due to the phone or gps but that phone does work on my Garmin c580.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

This was my first exposure to a GPS and it was highly recommended to me by several reputable sites.
The manual is on CD and is very thorough but I felt it did little to walk me through the basics, such as how to you set up to go from point A to point B.
I am not sure how to save a trip for future use. I think I figured it out but I would have liked more positive reinforcement from the manual. It is loaded with features and I will figure them out in time. It sets my home address as much as eight houses away. The product is good, the instruction leaves something lacking. You will end up contacting Magellan support for clear answers.

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

I bought the Magellan 4350 after a lot of research online and on forums. This is a great unit for the price.

Lane Guidance - I have started to become a fan of this particularly in confusing interchanges. The lane guidance is very clear and works great.

Media Player - Included player works well with MP3, Photo Slide Show. Haven't tried the Video through I heard the format support is not that great.

Fast POI Search - The predictive keyboard disables keyboard characters when then name is being typed and is very fast.

Routing - I am still getting used to it. Last week, it kept pushing me to local roads while there was a faster freeway alternative.

Website - The Content Manager and Hot Fix installed like a charm. I didn't have problems like others encoutered. However, I think their website still has some ways to go to offer interactive content.

Screen - 4.3 screen is good but in daytime, screen appears washed out. Night time view is great.

Used right out of box in my service van.
I put my map book in the door panel & havn't
touched it since. No more taking my eyes from
the road or stopping. Just listen to directions
and pull right up to the job. Well worth the price!

Comments about Magellan® Magellan® Maestro™ 4350 GPS Receiver:

Overall experiences were positive. Some addresses were not found, but that is common with auto GPS units.

Pros:
Unlimited (?) via points
POIs are comprehensive. For example, restaurant sub-categories are VERY helpful. You may look up Thai, Belgian, ... cuisine according to your taste.
One touch feature
Blue Tooth
FM transmitter

Cons:
Updated nav. software version v8.3.2.64084 resulted in many restaurant sub-categories being wiped out (you can no longer see Belgian, Thai or Vietnamese restaurants, for example). This is a serious problem for me.
Magellan should address this problem with a S/W update ASAP.

Name of current road that you are on is not shown
Screen not as easy to see as Garmin units
