I'm of the opinion that there must be a certain minimum sound quality achieved before a speaker should even exist. There just isn't any purpose in owning or even manufacturing these speakers. They are incapable of reproducing music or game audio to any reasonable degree. They are a waste of any amount of money.

I bought these speakers on sale for use in my classroom. I need quality sound when streaming video and such. They are makred improvement from what I had and for the price it was well worth it. I went ahead and got the two year warranty from Radio Shack and I am ver happy.

I just bought them recently. When I started to set up and hook up to my old desktop computer, wow, the sound quality is so amazing! Sounded more like a portable radio/tape player stereo system. Made my cat's ears up like an owl! lol..Awesome!

Except the blue light on my right side of the speaker is too bright on my eyes so I had to put a small adhesive tape over it to mute the glare.

These speakers have a muted sound, they do not turn up very high. Also, the blue light that always shines when they are on drove me crazy, since I don't like having to constantly turn them on and off, I had to take them out of my room. But they are ok for a cheap pair of speakers.

I needed speakers for my new monitor. I purchased the less expensive set for [$]. Brought them home, connected them, the quality is VERY POOR. I returned them for these. These are WELL worth the extra $8....I don't watch videos or play games on my PC. I just wanted a good quality inexpensive speaker. This is IT :)

Bought these for my computer and they work great on my mp3 player (computer is having issues with audio card driver right now :( ...) Great bass. A bit of white crud on some of the cables, but it came right off. Great product.

I tested the speakers with Classical (Mozart), Southern Rock (CCR), Latin (Quantic), Alternative (Crash Test Dummies) and Hip-Hop. The speakers sound GOOD to me! For the price you can't beat it!

I'll admit, the CA speakers struggled with the bass in Hip-Hop but if you adjust your PC equalizer, you'll be fine. No biggie.

So, yes, I would purchase the speakers again and again. They sound better than my more expensive Altec Lansing 5.1 sound system.

Somebody at work plugged these into a portable dvd player for use with a live concert at Central Park featuring Dave Mason. This system blew me away for how good they sounded for such an inexpensive set. This speaker system actually works very well for the size and money. Course I got mine on sale. But for a small set of desktop computer speakers they have surprisingly good fidelity. I am not a gamer and just listen to music at my computer. I don't turn them up as loud as I can or my landylady will pound on my ceiling. But I strongly recommend this system for an excellent basic set of speakers. The woofer has a long wire and can be placed under your desk.

I love my new speakers.

I got these speakers for my laptop, because laptop speakers sound horrible and don't have any bass. When I saw these in the store they looked like low quality speakers, but I bought them anyway.

They sound descent, but there is way too much interference. It is a buzzing sound and I think it is caused by the speaker wire. Too bad the wires are built in so you can't use your own. I tried moving the wires all around in attempt to quell the buzzing, but it made no difference.

I only recommend this product to people that live in the middle of nowhere, because it picks up lots of signals. I will take them back and look for some of better quality.

I played several musical instruments which I am very meticulous about sound quality. Even though it looks cheap, same as any small 2.1 speakers out there. Don't get fooled by its looks, this small wonder has BIG to offer, CRISPNESS!

I bought these speakers for use with my clock radio that does not have great speakers. This provides great sound. However, it does not have a headphone jack which would have been great for listening at night when I want things to be quiet. The power indicator light is VERY bright and I had to cover it with heavy black tape so it would not be so bright in my application.

I HAVE ALWAYS OWNED ALTEC LANSING SPEAKERS - FINALLY A PAIR I OWNED CRAPPED OUT ON ME.

I THOUGHT TO GIVE THESE A TRY FOR THEIR POSITIVE REVIEWS AND PRICE. SATELLITE SPEAKERS SOUND BRIGHT AND CRISP BUT DONT HAVE THE CLARITY OF ALTEC LANSING AT HIGHER THEN MODERATE VOLUME.
MOST LIKELY DUE TO THE CHEAPER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. THE SUBWOOFER IS REALLY TO SMALL TO REPRODUCE ANY BASS FREQUENCIES AND SOUNDS TERRIBLE WHEN THE VOLUME IS PAST THE 1/4 MARK.

Just bought them and blown away about how great these speakers are. For 13 dollars I was expecting much worst and they have great sound, and awesome bass. When you get to the higher volume (still not very loud) it sounds a little distorted but other than that it is awesome.

I was REALLY weary one buying this speaker system. I heard them in the store, and they didn't sound too good, but I came back about 30 minutes later and purchased them against my instinct. And honestly, I'm glad I did. They're really not bad. It was easy to set up, and they're great. Sometimes I detect a bit of static, but other than that, it's great quality for such a low price.

I can't believe how good these speakers sound. They are a real hard to find value and great for laptops and desktop use in place of headphones.
I've had them for almost a year and no problems at all.

You could get a different 2.1 system for hundreds more and still not get the impeccable sound quality of these speakers. YOU SHOULD BUY THEM! There is, however a couple cons: 1)At full volume when playing a song with high bass, the subwoofer overmodulates and causes a distorted sound (sometimes at lower volume levels too).2)using both my IBM thinkpad and Dell optiplex, when the computer boots up, they 'pop'. But other than that, they are the best speakers I have ever owned.

Although this product was reasonable and the sound quality is great... it only lasted 65 days before I had to return it to the store for a replacement. The subwoofer became staticky and made the sound terrible. If that problem could be fixed, this is a great product, quality and value wise.

For the price, you can't beat this setup. I teach a music class and they are perfect for playing iTunes through. I even got a set for the laptop. With a little EQ-ing (roll off the bass a bit) they're killer!!!

I bought these as an upgrade for my laptop speakers. They are brilliant for the money! Perfect for listening to music or playing a game. Would be nice to have a control on the sub, but as someone else was saying, if you have an equalizer, you can get them sounding amazing.

These speakers are great. It would be nice if there were controls on the sub woofer. They sound great, even put on a splitter with my other set of speakers. The blue LED is really cool. You can't not buy these with the excellent price. Good if you're looking for a set of speakers with a sub woofer on a budget.

Out of the box, these speakers are a bit tubby and bass-heavy. Tweaking EQ settings or tone controls (if your device has them) helps greatly. These tiny speakers and "subwoofer" take up little space (I like that) and seem to be solidly assembled. Overall, these speakers perform very well for their low price, and are a very good value that I recommend.
