Distance and direction. That's what this does. No maps, no voice, no subscriptions. A friend once told me his motto was KISS (Keep it sinple, stupid). There's no back light, but then again, if you're lost in the dark and have no flashlight, you shouldn't be moving anyway. When I drive to a trailhead, I turn on my BackTrack and push a button and it remembers that place. When I'm deep in the woods, I can turn the BackTrack back on and wait a few seconds - it tells me what direction and how far away my car is. Simple. I love it.
