I drive a gasoline tanker about 350 mi a day and use this unit daily. I bought this unit because I was told it had a "truck mode". Well it has a "truck" selection but it doesn't have any truck route software. I went on the Garmin web site and learned through the FAQ section that it doesn't have any truck route software...nor is there any available...What gives here ? lie, deception ? just plain ignorance ? Consmer beware ! I just don't understand why they would list "Truck" as an option and even have little "truck" icons for the map when the unit has nothing to do with "truck routes". I own this unit now and will keep it though I feel deceived about what it can be used for. Other issue include many streets in Chesterfield and Darlington Counties SC are not accurate. The "A" on the key board works when it wants to. Oh well feeling "screwed" again, I'l continue to use it to track my time and miles.

This unit came on the market a couple of years ago. Better made than the newer models at the same price levels. The one area Garmin is poor in is the Bluetooth software. Poor voice quality being received by the other party and "drops a lot of calls"

This unit has great features; things like bluetooth connectivity so you can answer your phone from the unit rather than picking up your phone; customizable home screen; pedestrian mode; SD card slot; headphone jack; you can even download audio books! it's also at a great price. At times, the unit acquires satellites slowly, leaving you driving aimlessly (if you're lost) for a bit until it calculates. However it does give you alternate directions as you do drive aimlessly; so it's safe to say, you will get to where you need to be; just a shred of patience is expected. What I found is helpful, is that if you know the exact address of where you need to be, input that info into the device before you get into the car and save it into your favorite.. that way, you turn on the device before you begin driving, go to favorite locations and find the name you saved it under and just hit go! The touch screen is ultra responsive and the suction cup mount is very strong! No falling off here! For a first time GPS device user, this unit is excellent!

The Bluetooth feature is what I like the best. It's easy to pair up and use. The Picture Viewer is very nice. The book player needs to have a better volume/sound. Maybe an FM transmitter to your car radio. The voice names of streets was for us the major selling point and works well.

I use it to travel in and out of town, but I have found that in looking up places by name, I need names as far back as before Katrina. I had a nuvi 350, I assumed that this new one would have an updated map, I was very wrong I should have checked it before I gave the 350 away. I could have saved myself this [$]. I have heard that other brands have updated maps. Please update your maps before selling these items.

I did a lot of research about GPS navigation devices before I decided to buy the Garmin Nuvi 360. I read over and over again that Garmin is the best value for money. My friend has an older model that I really like, but this one is even faster and much more compact. I love it!! It's helpful to find specific addresses or even to search a destination name, such as a sports venue. I also like the feature that searches restaurants, entertainment, and lodging in the area.

sometime an address not in there and it won't let you complete writing it out, wants you to accept what it gives such as won't allow you to add west and then address not correct. Good on recalculating.

Purchased for use on vacation. Worked great except for one address and that was not the fault of the GPS--"Biltmore Estates" took us downtown to the corporate headquarters instead of the attraction (people at Biltmore said it happened all the time when people used GPS. Did not lose satellite connection in the Smokie Mountains. My husband was impressed and he does not get impressed over anything. I always used maps before but this took the stress out of making a wrong turn; the Garmin recalculated the route and got us back to our hotel with no problems except took us the scenic route but who cares on vacation. Did a lot of research before buying this brand and am not disappointed with its functions. Also like that it tells you the time of arrival, amount of time you stopped, and points where you stopped. I have not mounted it to my dash or windshield yet but it would be helpful to glance at the screen because some weird street names spoken by the GPS could be verified by looking at the top of the screen to see the name. Do not care about the battery life because I have it plugged into the car when I use it, so who cares about how long the battery lasts.

I drive truck ( gasoline tanker) and biggest disapointment I have with this unit is when set on truck routes it ignores them..Maybe it needs additional software ? It doesn
t say that..Just gives the option to set on "truck" ... The other area it lacks in is the blue tooth, it is barely useable. The blue tooth system in my Ford is way ahead of it for clarity. I would recomend but with cautions about what a person was going to use it for.

I originally purchased a nextar gps but it had outdated maps and very short battery lifeI was unhappy with and returned it. then I saw the garmin nuvi 360 I bought it and I have been very happy with it though it took quite a while to load all the map updates online. the bluetooth is a helpful feature and at this price I have no complaints. 1happy traveler

I like the navigation features, although many times the choices it makes don't factor actual travel times for normal traffic.

Some of the features, like mp3 and books on tape make no sense given the tiny speaker and no capability to send the signal to your car stereo.

Bluetooth sound quality is great, although callers on the other end occasionaly complain about hearing their voices echoing if the speaker is turned up.

The overall combination of quality, features and price make this a great buy!

The Nuvi 360 is a great all-around nav system. Priced right at Radio Shack for $149 or less. It's compact and will find most addresses and places of interest when I'm out of town on business. Saves me a lot of time and energy. I'm able to concentrate on driving while listening to the voice commands. Highly recommend. You just can't beat the price and functionality of this unit.

I travel extensively for my job. This unit has taken out the "unknown factor" time to allow for searching for the best way to find a location or to recover from getting lost.

Once in awhile I use it to find a specific address in an area I know, and find that it doesn't always select the fastest travel directions to the location. It always leads me on a reliable path, just not always the most obvious.

Works very well, the voice prompts are very understandable. Our previous GPS wasn't clear on where we would need to turn-this one tells you the street name! Only caveat is that unless it is right up on the dashboard (for instance, if someone holds it) it is not quite reliable, cannot access satellites well.

I really like this unit. I have used it a couple times and am amazed by the accuracy and the overall way it works. Great value because it comes with USB cable, home & car charger. The only downfall is I cannot find a way to delete a route, but I am still learning.

I really like this unit but it does have some small problems, some older places etc. roads parks are not located in my gps map, and the routes the unit has you travel on are longer than the route I would personally pick even when specifing shorter or faster routes on the garmin, but if I was lost this guy would get me to my destination and that is the very reason that I purchased this garmin! It is very enjoyable to use.

The 350 is great. My only compliant is the car charger came unscrewed at three days after I purchased the GPS and one of the pieces is now missing. So I have to buy a new charger....And I wish the case had somewhere to store more than just the screen. Excellent GPS though.

I downloaded the free updates and Garmins site deleted all my maps.Nuvi doesnt have extras like gas stations unless you buy them , etc. All you see is roads. I bought a Tom Tom 630 , it shows all detail, including points of interest. Way better product.

A great product! I did have a problem mounting it to my windshield, but it was my slant of the windshield and me, not the product. I now mount it to the front of my radio, which is a very large flat surface, it works great! I love the way you can search for any business and get immediate directions. My favorite feature are quick recalculations of routes and spoken street names. This was really helpful when I traveled in the city and as I navigated around Hartford and Washington in traffic. It let me know when I had to stay right or left to stay on my route.

This device does more than what is required! It has an awsome base amplification of sound out of the built in mp3 player! I hooked it up to my car's 3.5 mm audio input and the sound is crystal clear and loud! It gets me close enough to where I need to go. The only thing is if you are looking for a specific street address it may or may not get you there. It's not great with store & restaurant finds. But for the price it'll get you close enough that you can find it yourself. I really would recommend it.

If you have the address and do not know where it is, the Nuvi 360 is great.

I use the GPS on vacations. You no longer have to worry about locating certain attractions or restaurants if you have the address. This eliminates a lot of lost time and saves on gas.

Some of the information on restaurants was not currents. A business in St. Louis has not been in business for 2 years, but yet it shows as a place you could select.

I plan on using my Nuvi 360 when out of town, or when trying to find places for the first time. Since I get lost very easily, this is perfect for me. I haven't figured out how to use all the extras but I look forward to it! I researched and priced for at least 3 months & could not believe this deal. There is nothing wrong with the windshield attachment, it's just tricky to get in place. I'll buy a dashboard mount soon.

I really liked it because we never got lost on our trip. If we took a wrong turn, it would get us back on track. Also i liked that we could plan our specific route into it, or look up nearby restaurants or gas stations. We also can program our families addresses into it so we could just push a button and it would take us there no matter where we were at. It is so handy and so easy to use! I have only used it once since I purchased it. I
brought it so in the future when traveling I won't

This is such a great GPS tool. I bought one for my son. He lives in Chicago and now he can go right to all the restaurants and addresses without relying on mapquest! The bluetooth makes it the greatest when you can't use any cell phone while driving. This makes trips safer and more relaxing.

I love this product. It gets me where I need to go. The only problem I have with the Nuvi 360 is that SOMETIMES it doesn't acquire the satellite, however, turning it off and back on takes care of that problem. And then the GPS works wonderfully.

To think that such a small instrument can be used to pinpoint your location, direction of travel, speed and ETA is pretty amazing. Then add on all the other features and it's all just blows me away what this little toy can do!
I've had fun testing it out by deviating from the route just to see how it recalculates. Although I know faster routes locally, especially during high traffic times, I'd feel comfortable following directions in unfamiliar territory.
With the growth in our area, there are many streets so new they don't appear on the map, yet the directions are still quite good. I'm very impressed and I've recommended it to a couple of friends.
Can't wait until vacation to really test it out. This is way too much fun.

Takes awhile to find satillites, but friends tell me that is typical. If I had known about a version that would work for bike riding, I would have held out for one of those. Was really helpful on recent cross country trip as it tells you what lane to get in when you are in unfamilar cities!!

I have been using GPS's way before they were popular, about 10 years now. I started with Lowrance hand helds, then Magellian's both hand held and dash mount. I really liked the Magellian 2000 but it was three years old and just did not have a lot of new subdivisions and roads in it.
I bought the Garmin because several of my friends have one and seem to like them. Overall, Garmin seems to be a GPS of choice by many rating magazines.
Mine had the 2008 maps in it but as soon as I registered it, I got an email with a link to update it to Feb 2009 and at NO CHARGE! That was good customer relations in my book.
The Nuvi-360 has many features my old Magellia did not have and I really like it. After 3 years, I coulod navigate my menus very quickly in the Magellian but I am doing very good with the Nuvi after 1 month. I like that I can mark a site and it shows up on the map. It is still missing several roads that were here 6-9 months ago but I don't think any of them are that up to date. I have Microsoft MapPoint 2009 and it does not have some of them either.
All together I think this is a fine unit without spending over $500. I don't see any reason for anyone to buy a wide screen GPS. We are just conditioned to wide screen TV's but it is different with a GPS. Save your money.

I was prepared to spend $150 weekly special for a lesser model at a department store, when I looked at the Radio Shack website and saw this product for a similar price. The text to speech is wonderful. The big seller for me was Bluetooth capability. I was concerned about the antenna, which similar in size to a small matchbook that flips up from the back. But the antenna is quite sturdy (I've dropped it already) and the bonus is the ability to use the Garmin for its other functions on flights that do not permit GPS use. This package has an offer for [@] to download three free audiobooks, a feature I enjoy. I've also downloaded pictures and music to my Garmin. My kit also included a case, a wall plug, a car plug and a dashboard mount. A great price for a complete kit for a Garmin. I'm very glad I went ahead and purchased this.

Originally I bought the nuvi 255 - I was concerned about buying the 360 since it was a 2007 model. My first use w/the 255 was a trip from Kansas City to Dallas and it set up a route using small highways that NOBODY uses for that road trip.
I simulated the trip w/the 360 and it gave me what I expected based on fastest time/shorter distance.

The MP3 player, Image viewer, and Bluetooth were icing on the cake as the 360 had already won me over. The MP3 player has decent features and song lookups are quick. Image viewer is not as good as the MP3 player - no options for sorting or searching - but images pop up quickly.
There are plenty of useful Bluetooth/phone functions and features - which are very handy when you tie those functions to the POI locater. When you select an item from the POI, there is a "one-touch" option to call the POI. That feature alone makes the Bluetooth worth a lot to me.

I got a free map and OS update and loaded it w/o problems which eliminated any concerns about buying a 2007 model in 2009. I've used the POI list a lot and look forward to being able to add my own POI's and maps to the 360.

One of my most pleasant purchases in a few years.

It is a great GPS, that when you reach your destination point the exact address you are looking for, but there are two things that needs to improve: the mounting brake felt off the place constantly, and do not recognize if you are driven on the service road of a mayor highway until you take the next turn. otherwise is it a fine product.

Ahh man, this is great! The 360 directs me to my destination quickly, and accuratley! And one of my favorite features about my 360, is that the bluetooth works great and its clear on both ends of the calls. OOh and i can't forget that even though i haven't brought an SD card i still had the privleged to download my pc music & photos into the MP3 file and pic file on the garmin until it couldn't take anymore space. Ready to go right out of the box! Clear concise directions. It allows plenty of warning before turns and even tells you which lane to be in. I have a decent sense of direction, but tend to get nervous in high traffic areas. This device reassures me which keeps me calm and safe and gets me where I need to be. Others have complained that it is too quiet, but I can hear it over a crying 6 month old no problem! ;)

I'm new to my state so I really needed help getting around and since it has Bluetooth it makes it a really great prroduct for me. My only issue with the Nuvi 360 is you can't talk on Bluetooth and receive verbal directions. Other then that, it's great. I handed it to a friend when I was in the mood for BBQ it listed all I'm the area so she a as able to choose the beat one. Great buy!

The sound is bad - I cant hear the directions and it doesnt state street names. Its also slow often stating turn left - just as you pass the street already. And when you use the phone option, calls are very fuzzy and distorted- you cant really have a conversation with anyone. And the directions are often bizarre! Very circuitous - too many circles, long routes, missing the fastest, quickest routes and going out of the way. I think someone seriously messed with it at the manufacturers. I'd like to return it and see if another one is really that bad.

I like all that comes with it. The case, AC adapter,etc. That stuff is expensive and is not included on a lot of the newer models. This one got us to a downtown location in a large city on the first day w/ no learning curve and perfect accuracy.

I buy this GPS because of the Bluetooth capability. At first there was difficult getting bluetooth to connect to my phone, but finally it pick up. The bluetooth function is great, I am really excited to use it. One con is the navigation does not pick up automatic from one state to another state. You have to manual set up which can be confusing to use.

I got this for my girlfriend last year for Christmas. Out of the box we had a problem where the audible directions would all of sudden stop even though the display continued. Garmin was quick to fix and we've been pleased with it ever since. Rarely it will freeze up, but a quick push of the power button and it resets itself. Very easy to use, I'm actually looking to get one for my 65 year old mother this Christmas after she got to use it a bit this past summer and thought it was very easy to operate.

Good to go straight from the box! Quick sattelite acquisition, very accurate directions. Text-to-speech keeps my eyes on the road; bluetooth feature (hands-free)totally compatible with my cell (LG enV): simple pairing in practically no time. Volume could be louder through speaker, but a pair of earbuds solved the problem. I've had the Magellan Roadmate 600, and a Lowrance GPS previously. Garmin is truly the undisputed champ! Their website is also quite useful.
