I purchased these for my father who is hard of hearing and they have a large living room so he had to turn the volume up to hear and my mom always said it was too loud! So they had individual speakers at one time but they went out. These were a Christmas gift and he loves them. Now he can turn it up as he needs and mom has her own too to adjust.

These speakers allow sending sound to remote rooms or outdoors without running wires. Due to our home design, placing wired speakers in the dining room would be very difficult. These solved the problem easily. Now background music can be played while we entertain.
A couple of considerations: while there are two speakers and sound quality is very good, the complexity of transmitting stereo from the base unit means that both speakers actually play the same sound (mono). This wasn't a problem for us and wouldn't be outdoors.
The remote acts on one speaker at a time and isn't particularly powerful.
Finally, while it's understandable that powering on with the remote would mean the speakers would need standby power (likely the batteries) all the time, it limits their placement to somewhere you can reach them to turn them on. They can be turned off with the remote.

I installed next my chair to hear TV without out having sound too loud for others.

I only wish sound level after unit cut off would return to previous setting when unit is later turned back on. It always needs to be brought back up to the listening level.

They were not weighty, yet had very good sound. Getting rid of packaging was not a problem. I plan to use at least one speaker outside in the summer while I'm working. Nice to be able to use with MP3 player.

DO NOT BUY THESE SPEAKERS! In an outdoor location protected from rain and sun and in a tropical climate, these speakers deteriorated in less than a year. They became wirelss speakers producing nothing but static. This happened TWICE, with two different speakers! One was used indoors. So, now we have a set of totally useless black boxes.

We bought this product because of a hearing loss. We put it right behind the person needing it and it made a lot of difference in them being able to hear the TV. We have friends who are going to buy it for their travel trailer and put behind their chairs because the air cond noise keep them from hearing the TV as well as they would like.

The wireless speakers are great. They allow you to project the sound from your DVD or other audio system to multiple rooms without the need for connecting wires. Good sound and range. The speakers can be powered with the AC wire adaptor or batteries for outside areas where there may not be a power souce. Unit came with RCA connector cables. Remote control is also a nice feature.

The speakers are used to enhance a new LCD HDTV. They work well and are controllable through the remote for volume, best sound channel slection and power off. They cannot, however, be powered on from the remote control. This is inconvenient as one has to bend down almost to the floor to power them on. They work well in plugged in and in battery modes. Sound quality is good but not great.

The remote control unit should be able to power them on/off.

Purchased because the speaker on our TV is right beneath a child's room and is too loud upstairs. With these speakers, we can turn off the TV sound (or turn it way down) and use the speakers to direct the sound to where we are sitting. The sound quality is not as good as an expensive surround sound home theater system, but is very good for the price. Speakers are easy to hook up and can be run either off batteries or plugged in with supplied adapters. We have had no interference, even when using the phone, the microwave, and the baby monitor, & the speakers simultaneously, although I will note that they speakers are within 20 feet of the TV.

Was not sure what to expect.The speakers sound great for talk radio and television.The transmitter works through several walls and down into the basement,even out to my garage,easily a hundred feet away from the computer.Not used them for music but I am terribly pleased with these things.Wish I bought them years ago.

I would prefer that the remote be able to turn the speaker ON as well as OFF. Mine is sitting on a nightstand beside my bed and is not mounted. Therefore it takes two hands to turn it on. That is - one to brace the speaker and the other to push the waterproof ON switch.

These speakers are smaller than they appear in the photos but are nice for slipping into little spaces where you need your tunes. We have used these outside and inside in the kitchen and found them to be good for getting you music where you might not have electricity or where you don't want an ugly electric cord hanging down. They are NOT loud which surprised me a bit. Used outside on the deck they are handy when you want to read and relax to your favorite music.

I use these as extra speakers for suround sound effect. I put one next to my Dad's head so he can hear better. We can adjust his volume higher and the others lower so that it's not blasting everywhere. LOVE IT!! Excellent sound and the range is great. I've taken them outside too.

This unit is worth the money, it is better than what you pay for. I use mine to listen to my computer and mp3 music all through my house or outside at our patio. Don't like the way the plugs are set up on speakers, they go sideways into the outlets and makes it hard for outside outlets that have plastic covers.

These speakers kept cutting in and out even when they were set up next to the base. They would cut in and out during a song and occasionally the signal was completely lost and I had to reset them. These aren't worth purchasing I ended up sending them back. I guess wireless isn't there yet, I'm sticking with wired speakers.

product fits and blends into most locations. does crakle a bit when bass is turned all the way up and volume is set to loud. but, i knew that when i made my order out, thanks to radio shack's reviews. overall, i'm so pleased with the product, i plan to buy two or three more for my home. i highly recommend this product!

I bought these speaker as rear channel speakers for my home entertainment system. Unfortuntly they do not adapt to handle direct power. This would work well for an avid ipod,mp3 user.
It would also work well for someone that has a large computer music library. Good sound from a 20 watt. Easy to move your music where you want to share. Good wireless range.

We were looking for a very basic, and inexpensive way to add music to our outdoor entertainment. These speakers delivered that quite well. The set up was easy, and took just a minute or two. I had high hopes for these speakers around my pool and garden. The sound is good and they can be hidden. But they arrived without a manual and they cut out briefly every minute. But the worst was Radio Shack staff when I called. They had no idea what to do or how to help except to return them. I am now waiting for a supervisor to call.

Utilized 4 of these speakers as auxilliary support to the output of a video projector. The setting was for an outdoor application. Was able to easily hang the speakers from wooden fence posts. Wireless connection worked great(approximately 20 feet from transmitter). Unfortunately, at max speaker volume setting,the sound was barely audible. However, indoors the audio level was fine(the additional reflected sound augments the audio level). I would recommend this product more for indoor use.

This thing would be perfect if both speakers worked. I tried it out before installing it at home. It worked fine for the first ten minutes then one of the speakers just quit. If you buy a pair that works, you will enjoy.

It runs into interference, A click in the music every now and then. Even within 40 feet the reception is not perfect. Do not use the headphone jack. The speakers do not handle base very well.

I wanted these to transmit from my iPod which is plugged into my stereo receiver via the bottom dock port. These can transmit simultaniously from the mini headphone (earphone) jack on top!! I use them on the deck or in the other rooms of the house. Be carefull, they are not for locations that get water.

I wanted to have music from an MP3 player go throughout the pet shop. These speakers are PERFECT! I also bought an MP3 player and simply plugged the speaker's receiver into the headphone jack and viola! We can also switch them to the DVD player and play a movie and the sound plays throughout the shop! FUN! The customers have positively commented on the clarity of the sound. I can place these speakers anywhere I desire in the shop.

This product was exacltly what I wanted for the outside when we go R V ing. They produce a nice clean sound with good range. I like that I can use the AC adapter or batteries. I tied them into my sound system inside the RV and have many speaker choices now. Inside,outside, or both.
