i just bought it with my new sherwood receiver, hooked it up with my laptop, and ipod dock and it worked great i would always recommend, I'm going to buy more before there all gone!
Works great! Now I can stream XM radio from my PC to my stereo in the living room 40 ft away. I had to change the channel to find a clear one, but once I did I was rewarded with crystal clear audio. I listen to classical 'Pops' and I hear no distortion or hissing.

This system was easy to setup and use. We have it in a travel trailer to receive the TV audio into the built-in surround system. If you hear 'clilcking', select thru the channels till you find the clearest reception. We're on our way to get another system today for the outdoor kitchen.
Those who say this product doesn't work and isn't worth your time, probably have other things interfering with the signal, or just didn't know what they were doing when they set it up...which is pretty bad because it's super easy to hook up.
I'm telling you, this product works great for me...so it should work great for you too.
The Digital Audio Link has 8 channels. When I first hooked mine up, I got some clicking on the first channel I tried, but I tried a few different channels and I found a couple that work great with no interference or clicking.
The transmitter and receiver are about 25 feet apart and the signal passes through a wall...and it works great. And my transmitter is about two feet from a wireless router and my receiver is about two feet from a 2.4ghz cordless phone. If you have problems with the signal, move the receiver and transmitter farther away from a wireless router or cordless phone.
I stream my XM Radio to my stereo in the other room. I also stream my iTunes playlists from my computer to my stereo. And it works as advertised.
This is far better than any FM transmitter I've ever used, and you can't beat the price.
As my wife is studying for her certification and she likes to study 'near' me, these were a blessing when I found them at a local RS. We live in a city and 2.4ghz was a big concern and it indeed was a problem. I have the annoying 'static clicking' noise as another reviewer wrote. I turned off my cordless phone, and my wireless just to see if it helped. Putting this device a foot away from the cordless phone and wireless router did make a big difference, but it still has those annoying noise. Perhaps with inexpensive headphones I wouldn't notice as much, but with Bose and Audio-Technica noise canceling headphones, these clicks are very distinct and intolerable. And in some occasions, sound is cut off. Big part of it is probably the 5 other wireless networks that are close by, not to mention other cordless phones. Distance between these two devices are 6 feet, so that's not the problem either.
My recommendation... If you live in a city, stay away from this product. Just to be certain it's not a bad batch, I plan to go back to RS and try another set. If that's the case, I will report back here. It's sad that this device did not work as when it is working, the sound quality seems nice. For that reason, I am giving it 2 stars.

Want to send audio from laptop to stereo without another power cable or more batteries. USB connection is supposed to do that. However, device did not install correctly (trouble with driver). Also, my 80211g network would be inaccessible (to my laptop and others nearby) when the device is connected to my laptop. Don't know if using audio cable + power supply fixes that problem.
I use this product to stream audio from my computer to my stero system throughout the house. I had purchased a Lynksys system (Music Bridge) for a lot more money and have had so many problems with that system that I just gave up. This is a great inexpensive way to address my needs.
Im just sorry that these are going away. I need more of them. Its such a great price right now. I was hopeing to get like 25 more of them.. but oh well
Based on the size and frequency chosen, I was not at all surprised that I would get static when doing 30 feet between two walls. I also have wireless that causes static on certain channels. Highly recommend Radio Shack to change frequency and increase transmitter output and keep signal choice within that frequency. I'm using it on my Cyber Acoustics 2.1 system and connecting it to a second one on the other side of my room--giving me surround 4.2 sound. Works GREAT from 12 feet away, but I would only use it farther if I had direct line of sight. Looking forward to a stronger model. I think size does matter, but considering a cell phone's capability, anything is possible.
I'm using this to send the rear channel audio across my home office. The sender is sitting next to my cell phone, and the receiver is two feet from my wireless 802.11g router. I suppose I haven't received a cell call yet, but the office has several computers running. I've not had the interference problem at this 15 foot range. Sound quality appears good.
I use this device to stream Sirius, Rhapsody and Wolfgang's Vault to my bedroom (30 ft.) and my living room (20 ft.) and it works great. This cost only [$]!!! plus another [$] for a second reciever!!! A wireless network or TIVO (for Rhapsody) are a pain, have (a lot of)problems and are much more expensive and complicated to set up (definitely not for neophytes). There aren't many bargains in the tech world - learn to see them and just turn down the music when you run the microwave - it will interfere with the signal :-)
I just bought this unit at the clearance price, and it worked properly right out of the box. The sound is clear, and the range seems to be adequate at home. I'm going to try this out in my music classroom instead of running wires all over.
No problems with these devices. Transmits clearly from TV to surround sound system approximately 12' away. I have a 2.4GHz accessory telephone handset in that area but not the main unit - no interference from that. Have not tried it with pc yet but the owner's manual describes clearly how to adjust your pc's audio properties for usb output.
Just wanted to stream PC Audio to my Stereo...if this worked for that purpose it would be fantastic. Hooked it up...got a signal that persistantly 'clicked' in the background (and you notice the green light on the receiver fast-blinking when the reception is mediocre).
If I put the transmitter and receiver 2 feet from one another the reception was great! Any further than that it was completely worthless (anything short of perfect with audio/video is a waste of time). I even tried just across the room with an MP3 player transmitting to the stereo - no dice - 'clicking' in the background again.
Nice idea - failed performance - don't even waste your time trying it out. There are probably better products available for the same purpose that actually work - I haven't searched yet but will be doing so.
USB cable does not work. Had to use the phono-plug which sends errant noises thru my stereo speakers.

I can get a link from my PC to the living room receiver (25 feet, no walls) and to my basement receiver (30 or so feet, lower level). But with either link, forget it if I turn on the microwave, go anywhere near it with bluetooth, or walk in the link.... It works, but not well. Channel differences, as noted earlier, are inconsistent.
Not good through walls. Poor signal strength
I was at the local [...] with many wires in hand to link my Itunes PC to my home stereo system when the manager recommended this product. Bought it, hooked in up within 5 min. and boom.... perfectly clear mp3's and internet radio in my living room. I have wireless keyboard and mouse to complete my wire free jukebox experience. One happy camper!
Very disappointed with USB hook up. Cannot get my computer to send the audio signal to the reciever without using Audio Line through earphone port? However, once I started my media player on my computer and connnected the audio line was immediately was able to hear the music on Bose Wave Radio. Problems: still sound cuts out if I walk between the transmitter and receiver. Why sell item with USB if the system only works through the audio line plugged into computer?
Works as expected if make sure to use the channel switch to get a channel that doesn't interfere with your current wireless products.
You get what you pay for, the audio cut out horribly in the presence of any interference. I had to unplug my wireless router, my cordless telephone, and my usb bluetooth adapter. After all of this the audio was cut out less, but I was unable to get my two neighbors to disble their wireless networks so I never got clean sound. My advice is to spend the extra money and get a couple of couple of Motorola DC-800 stereo bluetooth gateways and pair them. The audio is flawless on the DC-800 setup.
My experience was nearly identical to Robin T.'s in New York. My PC is about 40 feet from my stereo with 1 wall between the 2. I hooked everything up easily, but noticed right away that I wasn't getting any indicator light on the receiver. At first I thought I had a bad unit. I moved it to another wall and plugged it in and the light came on immediately. I quickly realized that my cordless phone which sits next to my stereo was preventing any signal to the receiver. After unplugging the phone I was able to get the unit working with very poor results. Any movement on my part between the 2 units caused the sound to cut out. I had also read online that many of these units are susceptible to microwave interference so I decided to give that a try as well. Sure enough, as soon as I started the microwave up, all sound was lost. The channel switching was a guessing game as well. I don't know if there is anything better out there, but these are not worth the money.
this product is well worth the money and your time

Very easy to hookup but disappointing performance. My computer and home stereo are about 30 feet apart with no walls in between. It only took me about 5 minutes to hook them up. I started my media player on my computer and immediately was able to hear the music from my stereo. Problems: When we walk between the transmitter and receiver the sound cuts out. You can switch through 8 channels but it's a manual process, not automatic. There doesn't seem to be any channel memory. If you find a channel that seems to work better than the others, then turn off the computer, the next time you start the computer you have to search through the channels again to try to find one that works reasonably well. Conclusion: The price and usability are good but intermittent reception makes these unusable.
