My wife and I do quite a bit of travel for work, so we find this to be a fantastic tool to have. It does exactly what you'd want in a GPS; accurate directions, clear spoken text, very good display, easy to use (you won't even need to crack open the manual) and extra features.

We prefer the 3.5 inch screen as it shows everything you need without blocking windshield real estate.

We like it so much that we'll get an extra so that we don't have to share.:)

It looses signal often.
The time estimates are often wrong by 25% or more.
The routes are often illogical.
The angled configuration of the mini-usb plug makes it difficult to plug into car charger.

I use a Magellan brand GPS without spoken street names. I bought this product to get the spoken street names function. The Magellan brand unit was much more accurate and did not loose signal nearly as often.

I started using this when I needed to travel for my company.

I am falling in love with it. I like it much better than the Garmin my son-in-law has.

The screen is a little harder to navigate through on the trip but the rest of the features are great.

Finding stores and comparing different routes are great.

I have nothing to compare it to, but it works great. It is easy to use, see, and hear. Not sure if there are enough POI, or if I can find specific chain stores with it (like the nearest WalMart or McDonalds). I gave it to my daughter in college, so I don't have it to play and figure it out.

I haven't investigated this yet, but if there is no way to increase the size of the icons and options (I realize that there will be more pages), there should be, just in case we don't have our reading glasses.Should add locating by GPS coordinates.I'm very pleased with the thing[...]

The unit is small enough to fit into the center counsel when not in use. It has a small screen but since I use the voice instructions, I don't have to read the map while driving.

After our TomTom was stolen, we decided to get the refurbished one. And we can literally not tell that it was ever used or purchased before. It works perfectly! We use it when we travel to a place we haven't before and need directions.. no more Google Maps, this baby is so easy to use and compact to carry around with us when we aren't in the car. I can't imagine our lives without it now. See an accident up ahead with tons of traffic, take a detour and the TomTom will re-route you so that you can travel around it. Love it!

I had held off buying a GPS unit for years because, after reading many reviews, they all seemed to have their quirks. I bought this little refurb unit for our two week trip to Washington State. All I can say is that "Judy" continuously surprised us with very good accuracy, map knowledge (she got us through Victoria BC Canada too) and thoughtful user features. She wasn't prefect: she didn't have all the tiny side roads in the national parks (no surprise), and she got confused about where one of our B&Bs was located in Forks, WA (for all the Twilight fans). (Note: the B&B owner said many of her guests reported that their GPS units had trouble finding her place... spooky huh? :) ) Everything else for two weeks was spot-on. Overall great product for the price. Thanks RS & Tom Tom.

This is a scam. You're better off buying a regular priced unit, not a refurbished. The map updates will cost more than the price difference. Don't get scammed by this!

Used this on a trip out of state, it was great for actual address finding and central locations. You should get map updates as soon as you get one because it is NOT up to date.

I bought the refurbished model, and we used it in Canada, and in the states. It performed just as expected, and quickly reroutes if you take alternate directions.

Great little device, does what I need it to do - tells me where to go/what street to turn on. Mount works for me and is compact. Volume is good, I set it at 70%, and I have hearing probs because I blasted the car stereo (like all you young stupidheads). Display does get washed out in bright sunlight. I added a bunch of POIs using the TomTom Home software. The Home software also installed the user generated corrections & updates to my pirated maps. You can get all sorts of other customizations (voices, map colors, sounds, POIs, splash screens, car icons, etc.) with the Home software. Also allows you to navigate to lat/long coords (handy at times). Satellite aquisition is great, I get reception throughout the inside of my avg 1 story home. Outside I get a lock in less than 5 seconds. No annoying "recalculating" voice if you miss a turn, it just does it. Battery life is about 2.5 to 3 hrs. Had to pirate the latest maps and use a keygen to use them (simple to do if you're wondering). If one of you losers steal it, I'd buy another one.

I bought this for my wife -- mainly for traveling within our metro area. Got the refurbished model with a rebate. Great price for a solid GPS. Seems to be a bit slow sometimes in acquiring satellite but works fine once acquired. Also had to tether it to the computer in order to get updated list of POIs (couldn't find the local [...]t out of the box). It was a simple process but took a while to update (maybe 45 minutes). Spoken street names is a great feature. Some of the addresses are a little off (our address in a semirural area is a couple hundred feet off). All in all this is a good basic model that does what we need it to do -- and for a great price.

This is our second TomTom ONE. Our first was the earlier "3rd Edition" which still works fine. It has been moved to a second vehicle and the newer one has taken its place in the car that we normally take on vacation trips.

Even though neither of these are the large scren versions, we are quite content with the size and features of the TomTom ONE family of GPS receivers. Although the mounting brackets are quite different, they both fit well in the lower left corner of the windshield and don't obstruct our view of the road ahead.

Easy to use straight out of the box. Connected to TomTom Home and got free map update. Easy to change icons, voices, etc, but only 2 voices are text-to-speech, others are turn-by-turn. TomTom had trouble pronouncing foreign street names, but so do I. Small screen is great, doesn't block my view, and can dim at night. Great deal at RS!

I would have never bought this product because it does not come with the most recent maps. This product comes with the map it orginally had when it was new and the latest map has to purchased for another $40-$60. Both Radio Shack and TomTom WILL NOT get you the latest maps. I think even though the product is refurbished it should stil come with the latest map guarantee!

this was purchased as a mother's day gift for my mother, so I have had only a couple chances to experience it. The only thing I could find that would be a "con" would be that my address is not on the map for some reason, and I can't just input it ... and a friends street is Merle and in TomTom it's known as Herle ... but, that's about it

Have previous experience with the 130 and it's a nice basic unit. You won't get the TTS unless it's the 130-s. Not real easy to tell from the description if RS meant to put the 130-s, but I would clearly check on this before ordering if TTS is a must for you. In my other TomTom XL-S, TTS doesn't come automatically enabled, you have enable it and can only then use one of the 2 computer voices that are compatible, not the neat movie star and other voices that are downloadable. Points of interest such as ATM's are a nice feature and it can find hotels and restaurants in the area. Also like how it quickly recalculates the route if you miss a turn...had trouble getting lower end Garmin to work with me this flawlessly.

I bought this 28 days ago; it's getting returned today. I used it in Boston yesterday. The accuracy when streets are close together is marginal at best. It takes between 3-10 minutes to get clear satellite signals when turning on the unit...I average around 5 minutes most times. The audio only says "Take a left, in point two miles", not "Turn left onto Main St in point two miles". I can't see how that is marketed as Text-to-speech.
