Depending on the model, you may need to download new firmware from the internet to use the Slot Radio micro SD cards sold for these players. Be sure to check the package for Slot Radio compatibility if intending to use these handy assorted music files. Some stores still have the older version of the Sansa Fuze, and they look identical to the new upgraded hardware. If it doesn't say "Slot Radio" on the package, you will need to visit [@] to upgrade your mp3 to play the preloaded micro SD Slot Radio cards. Great value overall, would buy again, but wish someone had told me what I learned the hard way. Battery life is awesome in these small players. Fell asleep listening to my Sansa Fuze, and it was still playing the next morning, with a 1/4 charge still left on the unit. Slot radio is a bargain for quantity and quality of music on preloaded micro SD cards. Only downsides are you cannot rewind, repeat, or delete songs. Songs start from the beginning if player is turned off. A mild irritation, but you can't beat the value of 1000 songs for only 30 dollars. You are able to choose the genre or overall category music on Slot Radio cards, so that helps a little in finding your favorite tunes.

My story: bought over a year ago.
Called tech. support and they tried to fix for 30 min. Tech realized it was broken. Sandisk said going to replace it even though MORE THAN A YEAR OLD. I had a Creative Labs MP3 that broke after 1 month and FRY's and Creative would do nothing to repair or replace. SanDisk is an awesome company with many awesome products. I own Fuze and 3 clips. They are incredible, small w/features.

I would not recomend this product. one days after I bought this product it froze up and the on/off button stopped working. the wheel and the on/off switch are very flimsy.

i got this mp3 player on short notice, and i really liked it. and for the price this was a great product. But about 4 days after i got it it started freezing up and at first it was only every once in a while but then all the sudden it started freezing every time i started it up. Now in just a few weeks it freezes up from the very begining and you cant listen to any of my music. i do not recommend this mp3, im sure you you can find a better one for the price.

Outstanding & Affordable, the SanDisk® 8GB Sansa® Fuze w/optional ext. card has met or exceeded all my expectations. It is easy to setup and modify using Windows Media Player. The battery life is enormous [18 to 24 hours]. I've convert everything sent to my Sansa® at 64 kbps and the quality of play-back is great [depending on what you start with]. I would buy another and have bought several of the smaller Sansa® for my family.

When I first worked with this it froze up twice. I should have returned it then. Now a month later it has totally shut off and will not come back on. I even wasted more money on the slotradio cards which are now useless.

It has frozen up twice since I had but I figured out what was causing it to freeze and I don't push it. I have about 1200 of my own songs on it plus the "Oldies" and "Rock" SlotRadio cards. I can carry 3200 songs in my hand! The battery does last forever unless you constantly have the dial/light on. The SlotRadio does not allow for search or repeat, only skip but I really enjoy all the different music that I did not need to download.

I got my Sansa Fuze 8GB as a gift for my fourteenth birthday. At first it was great, but after about a month (I listen a lot though) of use it started freezing up, turning off by itself, and was unable to delete any songs. Now the wheel won't turn anything, making it impossible to select songs or turn up/down the volume, (as I said) if I try to delete a song it freezes and the screen goes white for about half an hour till you can turn it off again, that's not even mentioning the buttons! The buttons ceased to work, I have to try and press super hard, or for a long time in order for it to do ANYTHING. And it's not even like I dropped it, true, I listen to it A LOT, and it does get some hard usage, but isn't that what it's for? Now, I'm not even sure I can return it because, though I was given the warranty thing I don't have the receipt, seeing as it was a gift. However it is overall a good design and without these (very annoying) and now major malfunctions, would be awesome. Right now though, I am very disappointed with it, not to mention all the trouble I am going to have to go through to get it replaced.

Buy the Radio Shack warranty! We've replaced it at no cost (except for price of warranty) for the 4th time this year. The extra $10 is well worth it. You have to buy the warranty each time.

I use this when I went to Washigton DC which is 14 hours total ( there and back) and by the time i got home the battery wasnt even halfway done it was still very full.I love this because unlike some I-pods you can listen to the radio. You can also RECORD off the Radio which means that if you hear a good song you can RECORD it off the radio.One thing that wasnt suitable to me was that sometimes when i take it out of the computer it frezzes up and I cant control it.

this is my second sansa product that has completely died on me without prompting. all of a sudden it went dead and now it wont turn back on or charge or anything completely useless. both lasted less than a year a piece..... do not buy any sansa mp3 players pay the extra money and get something better....not very happy with this product and will no longer purchase any sansa players

Saw this on sale, and decided to purchase. Tip - Update firmware before you do anything else. SIMPLE to drag over mp3's. Use your own favorite headphones - supplied ones are low quality. Purchased for travel. It's small, and fits right in my pocket. Very solid - not plastic feel like most. Expandable via micro sd card. GREAT sound, and simple to operate. I have been shopping for a while, and remain very happy with this purchase. MUCH lwer cost than iPods, and expandable.

I got this a few months ago and I'm addicted to it. What I like is that you can drag and drop mp3s into it. Just go to the sansa site and download the media converter to add videos to it. It's really easy and you can update the player, too.

I like the picture quality, too. Good product overall.

you can feel the scroll movement, easier to stop on a song. on an i pod you kinda have to scroll back and forth to stop on the song you are looking for. very aggravating.

I bought this to replace a unit that was much lower capacity that had broken and was not working properly. I liked that I could use microSD cards to increase the storage here (the replaced unit took up to 1GB SD cards). I have a high capacity 8GB microSD card installed which provides the Fuze with 16 GB of memory and I can purchase more cards and keep other things on them to make the library limitless if that's what I want to do. Since it isn't hard drive based I can run or move while listening without worry about it skipping. I have picked up some accessories to protect it and allow me to wear it on my arm. I have been very pleased with it. Sometime I'll try videos on it.

Listening to music is easy, and I like the photo capabilities. The controls are easy to use. I don't like the fact that the software requires administrator access on Windows Vista. The battery life also seems shorter than my older Sony NW-HD5. It is sufficient, but I do have to recharge more than I'm used to. These cons are minor compared to my overall satisfaction with the Fuze.

Much less expensive than an equivalent iPod, but syncs with iTunes very easily using SyncTunes. Was able to transfer all my music with very little effort.

great digital player very easy to load music, just copy and paste no need to sign up for Itunes to load music!! Very happy with the storage and preformance for the price!! I picked up a Micro SD card and have expanded the memory to 16GB for half the price of other units. the unit is thin and sleek and has a good quailty color screen for videos and pix. I was supprised how well the FM tuner works.

Over all this is a great player!

This is very easy to use. Battery life has been great. I love that I can delete songs directly on the player rather than have to do it through the computer. I have loaded over 200 songs from CDs that I already have and still no where near needing a micro SD card for extra memory. That, by the way, was a HUGE selling point for me. Took me a bit to figure out how to load podcasts from BTR, but once I did, it was super easy. Couldn't get it to work through Windows Media Player, but saved them to my hard drive then transferred them. I haven't been able to load some vidoes that I downloaded but I haven't really worked with it too much. Overall, I highly recommend this product.

I hate Sansa AND this piece of garbage...owned it for over two months now and had problems right out of the box...but they weren't ANYTHING compared to after the firmware update, now it's all the same problems x10 plus a few extras. Got this over Black Friday and have HATED it since, buy ANYTHING else, because the only goods thing about this player is battery and 8gigs....FYI those two "benefits" can be found in ANY 8gig or larger mp3 player.....BUY SOMETHING ELSE FOR SANITY'S SAKE! I received this player for Christmas and I love it. It is so sleek and compact. It plays really well and the battery lasts for days without having to be recharged. I have nearly 1,000 songs on mine and there's still plenty of room for much more. The sound is awesome, and I love the FM radio. I feel like this mp3 player is just as good or better than an Ipod for a fraction of the price. I am very happy with it.

My daughter's had a Toshiba Gigabeat, Microsoft Zune, iPod shuffle, & a multitude of 'off brand' MP3 players...and has been disappointed in all of them.
Then she got the Sansa Fuze, 8GB with a MiniSD slot for up to an additional 16GB (per card!) that plays music and video (comes with a simple program to convert movies and music to what it needs to play whatever back!) and sounds great to boot!
No complaints whatsoever!

This is a full service MP3 player. We are not allowed a radio where I work. I am allowed this personal MP3 player. I get my news off the FM in the morning. Then I listen to my favorites which I loaded from my personal collection. I have 750 songs stored in the sleek, easy to use, player. Best of all, those 750 songs only used 4 MB of my available 8MB's. Then, on my 30 minute ride home, I plug this MP3 into my car audio and continue listening to my favorites. IT IS GREAT!!

This is a great MP3 player it is nice and small and easy to use. Being able to listen to and record live radio works good, but the reception is a little weak. Movies play good for the size and the supplied media converter works perfectly.

I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can mount this on my motorcycle helmet and have tunes while I am riding.

Great MP3 player, excellent sound. Plays videos well. Has an FM receiver integrated. This player is an improvement over earlier Sansa players. It does scratch a little easily, so buy a case for it. It has an SD slot, so the storage is upgradeable without buying a different player.

You can't beat the price. An 8gb iPod costs [$]... With the 8gb fuze you get room to expand up to 8gb more (16gb total) with the MicroSD slot + you get FM radio and voice recorder. Sound quality is good. The earbuds could be better. I'd recommend picking up a decent pair in the $20-$30 range on sale and keep the included buds as a back up.

Got this little guy and love it, quite pleased with the large screen and the colorful controls, and with the latest firmware update from Sansa it now even plays .ogg and .flac formats. What more could you ask for.

So now if you are running a Linux system you can use this guy on that too since it supports .ogg playback.

Quite enjoyable little player, just get some kind of protection for the screen, it scratches easily.
