Comments about SIRIUS SIRIUS Stratus 5 Dock and Play Radio:

If you are using this through the FM radio in your car, you are going to have problems because the FM transmitter in newer Sirius radios is wimpy per FCC edict. You will have stellar results with a direct audio connection. If your car radio does not have an audio input jack, get the RF cable that feeds Sirius directly into your FM antenna.

Have been a sirius subscriber for six years now and just bought my third reciever. I have always had great reception with out having my antenna mounted outside, unfortunately not with this model. i had to mount it outside on the roof, and now find myself changing the broadcast station at every stop sign to get good reception. over all i would recommend sirius to everyone just do your research before buying a reciever.

Comments about SIRIUS SIRIUS Stratus 5 Dock and Play Radio:

Very easy to install. Should take most people less than an hour to install. No screws necessary, mine is clipped to a vent with the included clip mount. Wires are very sturdy yet thin and easy to hide following package instructions. There are only a few places in my area where I get lousy reception, one I think is because of the hill/mountain/canyon area blocking the satellite, the another is a street with overgrown old growth trees, doesn't work too well with most drive-throughs because of awning issues. I use this product all the time at work, in my car. I like the fact that there is an automatic 4 second buffer that eliminates signal loss while driving at freeway speed under bridges and overpasses. The presets are great. My biggest issue is that I wish I had an aux input on my car stereo so that I didn't have to use the FM transmitter to get the signal to my radio. I have to change frequencies when I travel through some areas, or I get FM interference near power lines. But the unit does make it fairly simple to change frequencies, even while driving, though I do not recommend doing so for safety reasons.

All in all I have been extremely happy with the radio and the programming from Sirius. In many ways it is kind of like having your first cellphone. ONCE YOU GET IT, YOU WILL NEVER KNOW HOW YOU LIVED WITHOUT OUT IT.

My customers love it. I play 40's music for senior citizens and whatever the customer wants for the rest. It goes great with my disco ball.

I don't know what everyone was talking about with bad reception. I had a factory installed Sirius unit in my Nissan and I had issues picking up signals under a car port. When I popped this baby in my Chevy, which took me maybe an hour, I didn't have to move my car to get a crystal clear signal. Easy to read and use I highly recommend. Only thing is, is that the wires are hard to hide in my particular car! Oh well.

Comments about SIRIUS SIRIUS Stratus 5 Dock and Play Radio:

I installed the radio myself in my wife's vehicle in about two hours. It worked the first time power was turned on! I did however, decide to move the fm "Transmit wire" through the passenger door and attach it just under the vehicle's factory antenna. This seemed to help get a better signal to the factory radio if you don't have a direct audio connection. I like the fact that we can remove the radio by itself and use it inside the house too! I just need to buy a boombox or home kit.

Comments about SIRIUS SIRIUS Stratus 5 Dock and Play Radio:

as with any satellite receiver, you almost always need a direct connection to your radio antenna. you can buy a seperate cable to connect to the back of your radio that turns your antenna off when the radio is on..wahlah...perfect reception..also if you have a port to plug in an IPOD type device..plug this in...crystal clear reception

Comments about SIRIUS SIRIUS Stratus 5 Dock and Play Radio:

Mel you really need to do something about the reception. I made the mistake in switching from XM to Sirius. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give XM reception a 10 and Sirius a 5. A walk in the park does not apply to Sirius. Any where near a tree and the reception cuts out, not so with XM.
