Comments about Sony Sony® h.ear™ Sports Headphones (Vertical Clip-On):

I'm very picky about my headphones. For years, earbuds have bothered me because I don't know, my ears are senstive and I decided to try these. Either my ears are too small or whatever but they just keep falling off and they don't look very stylish honestly. They'd probably be better suited for someone who works out a lot.

Comments about Sony Sony® h.ear™ Sports Headphones (Vertical Clip-On):

In light use, just sitting around, no running or anything, left side developed a short after about a year. I took them apart and found the short was in the knot they tie in the wire, under the silver cover. I guess I'll snip off the bad section and resolder to the speaker. They sound great, though. Or, they used to.

good earphones
By JoeyVerified Reviewer from New York, NY on 5/3/2009
Pros:
Rich Sound
Cons:
Clips feel cheap, Slide off when running
Best Uses:
Music
Describe Yourself:
Frequent Traveler, Runner
Primary use:
Personal
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Sony Sony® h.ear™ Sports Headphones (Vertical Clip-On):

i bought these because my earphones kept slipping off when running. i figured clips would be good, since i used to have ones that stayed on well while i ran.

the clips on these are too flimsy, and tend to slide off when i run. it's not too terrible though, it could be worst.

even so, i should mention the sound is pretty good for the price. i would recommend them to someone who doesn't do anything that's too active.

These sony sport headphones are amazing! This system also cranks up really loud. The sound is very good and clear. They fit nice in your ear and they do not fall out even if you run, because they are hooked around the back of your ear. [$] I highly recommend this product.

Comments about Sony Sony® h.ear™ Sports Headphones (Vertical Clip-On):

(NOTE: A lot of the following is based on my opinions and preferences. They might be different for you.)
I use these earbuds for my iPod, and they are so much better than any other earbuds/headphones I've ever used. Even thoses $50 suction-to-the-inside-of-your-ear headphones. The sound quality is amazing and I have never had the speakers blow in either bud. (I've had two pairs.)
The reason why I said they are uncomfortable is because of the wrap-around plastic on the earbuds. But that can be changed simply and easily to make it extremely comfortable and feel like it's a part of your ear: Just take scissors and clip off the plastic part. Simple. But that's how it works for me. I know a few people who have had the h.ear headphones and love the wrap-around, but for my ears, the wrap-around makes the earbud pop out of my ear. It's extremely annoying. Also, there are some people whose ears just aren't the right shape for these headphones, as they are side-slip-in earbuds (they aren't round like default iPod earbuds, they actually slide into your ears)--but they're perfect for me.

PROS
- Easy to use (after wrap-around removal)
- Stay in your ear
- Comfortable (after wrap-around removal)
- Amazing sound quality (and not too much bass)
- Excellent volume control
- Wonderful outside sound deletion (you can't hear other voices around you unless you pause the music)

CONS
- Not very comfortable until the plastic wrap-around is removed
- After nine to ten months of use, shorts can occur in the earbuds (especially if you pull them out of your ears with the wires)

So all in all, these are great earbuds and a must buy for sure.

Comments about Sony Sony® h.ear™ Sports Headphones (Vertical Clip-On):

I got a pair of these headphones about 3 years ago. Since then I will not buy another set of headphones. These headphones last and don't get tangled in my hair or fall off when i jog up stairs. These are the greates earphones especially for people whose ears aren't the most compatible with the everyday "ipod" earphones. These are awesome.

Good but fragile
By Mel from SC on 11/7/2007
Pros:
Comfortable, Highly Compatible, Lightweight
Cons:
Flimsy Construction
Best Uses:
Music, Portable Devices, Running, Travel, With My Computer
Primary use:

Comments about Sony Sony® h.ear™ Sports Headphones (Vertical Clip-On):

I love how comfortable these ear clips are, and they sound really good. They're easy to fit onto your ear and they stay put. And they're compact enough to fit easily in my purse. However, I've owned 4 pairs of these. They keep breaking. One of the ears inevitably goes out after 6 months or so. For me, it's easy for the cord to get caught on something or yanked -- when that happens, one of the connections inside the earbud gets messed up and quits working. Although, for the price, they might be worth replacing over and over again.

I have bought three pairs of these headphones because they are lightweight, functional, and inexpensive, but in EVERY INSTANCE the right ear-piece has lost sound within 6 to 9 months.
