Comments about Danbar Danbar Air-to-Air RC Combat Nano Copters:

With in an hour both helicoptors were broken. Seems a small plastic linkage between the main helicoptor blades snaps easily. The system allows for each player to shoot down the other helicoptor, but in doing so the crash causes it to break. I can't see this not being a fairly common problem and would think that the part should be changed to an interchangable one.

Comments about Danbar Danbar Air-to-Air RC Combat Nano Copters:

Great value. Hard to operate, requre a lot of patience, best for older children (over 12). Seems to be durable (more than other similar item we had), but can not take to much of abuse. Taking off and hovering is chalenging, flying in desired direction near impossible, so shooting other helicopter did not succed so far. Requires 12 AA batteries (not included). It was on deep sale so for the money I could get only one helicopter elswere.

Comments about Danbar Danbar Air-to-Air RC Combat Nano Copters:

These broke within the first 15 minutes that my boys started playing with them. They are supposed to be durable but they would bump up against the ceiling or wall (while learning to control them) and the supports to the blades would pop off. Eventually they broke all together even before they could control them enough to even try battling as is supposedly the original intent.

We bought two of these but both orange controllers didn't charge the helicopter right out of the box. We were able to charge both helicopters using blue chargers so we decided to keep it. After few days propeller on orange helicopter broke and now its unusable. Blue helicopter is so far going strong. So now I have a [$] regular helicopter which is still not bad.Now the good part. It's a lot of fun for few minutes that it did work. Helicopter flies well and shooting down the other is a load of fun. I just wish it didn't break so quickly. I wouldn't pay the MSRP $70 but for [$] for two heli - can't beat it.

I got the nanocopters for [$] and my they were flimsy. After three weeks, both copters broke cuz they kept on crashing into the wall. Tried to fix it w/ a glue gun but it only lasts for a little while. However, playing with them are fun, but hard to control at times. Overall, fun to play indoors and out. Takes a while and experience to get use to the way the copters fly. Beware, it may break.

By ChuckVerified Purchaser from Michigan on 2/13/2009
Pros:

Cons:
Flimsy, Poor Construction
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Danbar Danbar Air-to-Air RC Combat Nano Copters:

This is a fun toy. They had a good idea with the product, but the construction is so flimsy that I would estimate the lifetime of the item at a couple hours (maybe a week if you are extremely careful with it). I do not recommend letting kids handle the them, even adults need to treat these with great care. Furthermore, I do not suggest using it to dogfight like the package suggests either. Shooting down your opponent can greatly increase your chances of the item breaking. Overall, I would rate this product a do-not-buy unless you have some money to spare for some short lived gimmic toy fun.

This deal is a steal !Let me tell you :All those saying ::1. Poor construction : Pl check the other brands within same price / size. This one is much better.2. Difficult to fly : Thats' true. Any tiny / 2 channel IS difficult to fly till you learn how to fly. Today I / my 10 yr nephew can fly it all 6-7 min long, with full control, including landing. It How many days it took for you to learn skeating ? same thing...3. Batteries Not Included : They never said "included" What all do u expect in [$] ?4. Fallen apart : It took atleast 5-7 flights for me get hold of it. As soon a you suspect u gonna hit something, just release all the controls, let it fall. Doesn't matter if it takes 6-8 feet fall with rotors not spining... It can easily stand that "silent" crash... But with such a high-speed rotor spinning you touch anything like wall / floor / ceiling, even metal rotor will fall apart... Do real life chopper blades can sustain similar crash ? Think...It's almost true with most of the toys... Not just this Danbar...Never say "It doesn't work", say "I could not make it work"; never say "Its boring", say "I didn't like it"... No offence meant (none accepted...)Yes, any manufacturing defects should not be tolerated at-all...I'm not a Danbar guy ! Hope "Verified Customer" appears against this review once I submit this review :)Enjoy,_zdWill upload the VDO sometime..._zdNever say, I cou

These are great fun when they work. However, all 4 of my copters lasted less than 2 weeks before the linkage struts and main rotors broke.

Danbar Toys now has spare linkage struts on their web site, but... If the struts are OK and the copter is still unstable in flight, the pins that center the main rotor on the shaft are broken. Danbar should supply spare rotors too.

hard to stabilize. breaks easily. each copter only lasted a few flights before the thin rods connecting the main rotor and the balance bar broke. i've tried superglue or replacing the rods with metal wires but the copter doesnt fly right anymore. Don't waste your time and money. Buy something else.

Yes I am agree with all the reviews, worthless, and easily break down with the first 15 min when practice flying. I want to return the package back to the store BUT I thought it will be good idea to think about fixing it. Really, it was so surprising to me when it is now more efficient and better than before. The two thin plastic connectors between the blades and stablizer broke and can't fly at all. Now I have replaced the two tiny pieces with two flexible wires, you can use the tie wires that usually come with gifts. It is now working good and never spinning, even my 4 years old child can fly with it,, more fun. Please try to fix it the same way or let me know if you want help.
Thanks Radioshack..

The whole concept was intriguing. I was so excited to buy these for my father, and be a kid with him again. Unfortunately, like mentioned in other reviews, the little flimsy piece that connects the stabilization bar to the blades would not stay on, so i glued it, then it broke...grounding the helo for life! Almost perfect, except for that stupid flimsy piece!

This is a neat concept, but the copters are flimsy in construction. The very thin connecting rods (plastic) that connect the rotor to the blade broke on the first flight. Not worth the asking price.

Comments about Danbar Danbar Air-to-Air RC Combat Nano Copters:

I bought this set and had a great time with them for the first thirty minutes or so. Then one of the helicopters stopped responding to commands, and the other lost one of the weights on its balancing rotor. Neither of the helicopters had suffered a major crash and now neither of them are airworthy. I guess that I can salvage a weight from the useless blue helicopter to save the orange one, but that kind of defeats the concept of air to air combat. They were fun for the short time that I got to play with them, but definitely not durable, and definitely not worth the money.

they are not durable and break on the 2nd or 3rd crash! When I say crash I mean when they run into wall or piece of furniture. Unless you have a huge open room you will not have enough room to navigate your copter much less aim and shoot the other! Got on sale for [$] and not even worth that!

Fun but 1st one broke within 30 minutes after some minor crashes. Attempts to fix, failed. Far too sensitive balance. Flys but wildly. 2nd one broke 5 minutes later after a hard landing. Too bad, had potential but at $1 per minute play time ([$]), not worth it.

Crash Resistant... Until they Break

Comments about Danbar Danbar Air-to-Air RC Combat Nano Copters:

Generally crash resistant. However, once a vertical stabilizer rod between the main rotor blades and the upper stabilizing-star breaks, it is game over.

Kit only provides replacement tail rotors. Not the ultra thin stabilizer rods.

This, and most other RC choppers do not do true hovering. They are always moving forward. You cannot hover stationary or move backwards or sideways, you can only rotate the nose to left or right. Chopper must be continuously re-trimed (tail rotor speed), and cannot turn nose quickly to the right. Turns left very easily (counter clockwise), as this is helped by the rotor turning clockwise.

I am returning this set.

Comments about Danbar Danbar Air-to-Air RC Combat Nano Copters:

My mother bought two sets of these. Her two grandsons set to flying and enjoying them. The three frequencies are especially nice. Before the second charge was used up however, two of the four copters were not working. The tail rotor on one would not spin; the main rotor on the other had come loose. Yes, they had some crashes, but they are combat copters designed to be "shot" from the air... I went to the Danbar toys website which, in material included with the toys, promised replacements at an affordable price, but could not find them..... If they lasted longer, I'd give them a much higher rating!

Comments about Danbar Danbar Air-to-Air RC Combat Nano Copters:

Copters come with replacement "tail Rotors", however these do not seem to brake in our experience. The extremely thin vertical rods that hinge and hold the main rotor blades to the top stabilizer bar will eventualy break, and there are no replacement bars. Copter is then useless.

First failed on Xmass day. I plan to return product after Xmass, it is clear that it is only a matter of time for the next copter to fail. Though of using wire to fashion replacements, but that is not why we purchased the copter set.

It is not easy to fly, so be warned as well, (and I am a former pilot). they seem durable but for the insanely weak bars.
