Well i got this car and the all wheel upgrade,i taped my tires with scotch tape,and i started to drift with it its really good and fast,one thing!buy 8 recheargable AAA batteries so while you use ones,you charge another ones when they run out, you put the other ones on and put the other ones to charge!!!

I own 3 xmods already and I went and picked this one up at RS. This is the best one yet. It handles really well. They are easy to use and upgrade. all you really need is the stage 2 motor and an all wheel drive kit. Also, I recommend using rechargeable batteries.

This RC is quite fast for the price, fun to drive, and quite a nice little car. however, the paint on the body, if the car is crashed, does wear off quickly, and because of the gray plastic underneath, is quite noticeable. the chassis itself is a very good(though i wish it came with a couple more extra screws). all of the trim buttons and left and right steering on the controller do help, since i am left handed, and have been having trouble steering others. the stock motor has more than enough power, and if you flip the switch on the controller to high, it just goes like a rocket!!!
just get the bearings, the AWD, and rechargeable batteries, and GO GET THEM!!!

I love this car. Upgraded the shocks to soft all around and the Stage 2 motor kit.
Now, bad points:
Scratches easily, can be repainted
Bad remote (I had to take it apart and reassemble it but it works great after that)
No crystals or body kits

This is a quality RC Car. Many people consider this as a toy but it is anything BUT. Look at the chassis and you see specs similar to products more than 5 times its price! It's right up there with Mini Zs,iWavers,Firelaps,etc. Very nimble and quick yet can still take corners with ease. The stock motor has enough and more power. No need for the Stage 2 if you get the AWD upgrade like I did. [...]Very good for drifting. Top speed with all available Radioshack upgrades:20 MPH if tuned correctly!! I loveee this Xmod!!!!!, Amazing body details, pretty fast for a 27,000 rpm motor but i would recomend getting an aftermarket motor to fo faster, better handling than the evo's though. stronger wheels, better rear suspension, GREATT OVERALL!

this product is well worth the money.super fun buy all the upgrades especially the rechargable batterys and the stadge 2 motor upgrade. on a tamiya dyno these tthings run over 15mph stock and 23mph on the stadge 2 motors. hours and days of funn i would recommend to anyone!!!!

Over all my Nissan GT-R is pretty great. Although, it could come with a more higher ground clearance from when I am using it outside like for going over sudden bumps, but still over all, a great product. P.S. the free neon kit was a great touch-up upgrade with the deal I got for my Xmod, thanks.

This car is great, and the drift kit is awesome too. But what is really needed are 2 pairs of batteries and a 15 minute charger. The battery lasts around 15 minutes so you could be charging while playing and have "endless fun".

I use this car to get to high speeds then turning around and to mention speed this car has great accell and speed for how small it is but with great speed comes great turning abilitys so i recomend to play in big, open, flat areas because just some of the smallest rocks may stop this car.

I am a 43 year old father of 3 and since X Mods have come out on the market I have bought them all! These little guy's really take a beating and continue to run! I am the uncle that all the children in the family want to "Hang out" with! We change part's around, I even taken them apart and primed and painted them different colors so no 2 cars are alike! Keeping the under pinnings from the exsisting evo line helps with mods. They are easily modified as long as you bought the suspension kits and others when they were around with the first run of the evo line. I do agree with the fact that the older first evo mods should be brought back ( I know I am running low on tires and rims now too...), also body kits on the real cars are plenty so why not scaled down versions of real kits? I have too many of these from gen 1 to evo line even some with custom bodies (ie......2000 chrysler LHS, 87 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z..............), overall great products, fun indoors or out and limitless possibilities for mods. For better battery life buy lithium AAA's, more money but better performance and life span.

Very good quality and it has proportional speed and steering. MOst have one or two speeds. Strong and can take running into things very hard without breaking. Handles well and it can drift if you take time to learn how.

very fun if your into upgrading things and adding lights, my first x mods but originally started with a red cat 1/10th scale car.. this little car is easy to do upgrades. works best on wood floors or tennis courts ect. pretty cool car if you buy the body up grades or the transformers gun and literally do your own customization. took maybe an hour to upgrade motor and do all wheel drive.. i would say go on [...] and look for motors..i found one thats 80,000 rpms for the xmods so if i can get it i will install that which should give the car a nice swift kick in the tail pipe..over all bodies very good quality, just have to online hunt for accessories to get really nice ones like custom decals etc.

I mean honestly, when you call it an XMOD, you MOD it. I liked the older vehicles, even though I'm still stuck on the Gen1. I have a major collection, and even bought the AtomicMods Heroshima. If you want a one piece molding, just goto [...] and get the same quality, or better. With XMODS it was about tuning a vehicle to your taste, and self-individuality. What were you guys thinking taking away the body mods, or the plethora of performance tuning that you once had? You wasted your money in production efforts, and have earned a shamed view from people like me who enjoyed these when the 67 Camaro was a MUST have. I remember going nuts for the origonal red Supra when the lineup was first introduced. Now? I don't even bother buying anything from you guy's till you get your act straight. Maybe when they go on clearance for a stunt car for the 10 minutes of boredom I might have. And Let me tel lyou, it's lot's of fun racing alone, when all the crystals are the same -.-I mark this as Fail.

i bought this car on a saturday and the reverse went out in one day had to take it back the folowing monday. i found out the car is not as good as the evo. models that raido shack had before. also it has a fixed crystal so you cannot race this car with others. the older models you can change and race with other drivers. i have two of the older xmods and me and my daughter race quite often. they are cool. my advice is to try to find some of the older xmods evo. cars.

No good. It came out looking like an offroad 4X4, had 1/4 inch gap between front wheel and fender. Then I went to use it at a roller hockey rink. And it will barely turn right, yet turn left perfectly. Then it spins out and always looses control. Completely useless. My older Scion TC Xmod is much better.

I'm so glad XMODs are back. I had one xmod the Mitsubishi Lancer and I had the most fun with it. As soon as I got the Nissan GT-R, I installed sealed bearings from vxb.com as soon as the box was opened and installed a wing from the Mitusbishi Lancer Body Kit from the previous Xmods. The only thing that isn't so great about it is I can't play with it at work. Its really fast, fun, and even cooler to play with at night with the Command Logic Light Kit.

Its a nice car to have even though you cant change the body.
But you could just change it to a Stage 2 Motor and it will go quicker.

Sure, this is an obvious change from the original Evo series, and it doesn't have a crystal or body kits, but, this is pretty nice. Acceleration has become smoother, turning is smoother. RadioShack has definitely changed the electronics to be smoother than before. The no crystal thing can be easily fixed with a new controller and a little modification to the EP board and you can always scratch build a body kit from some putty and a bit of styrene.

I like the older one becuase i would paint them and put rims and they look good with a nice paint job rims and a body kit. This xmod is one of my favorites yet. It is faster is good on most surfaces and the batteries last long. As for the other people who reviewed this product and gave it a 1 star rating because u could not change the crystals are comletely ignorant. If you really cared about changing them then u would find a solution. Go to [@] and there u can send in your xmod and it will fix that problem allowing you to change the crystals. This is a great product.

I love the new GT-R, it looks great and its meant for racing..the crystals being solder on is a bad move, and also the lack of body kits.. Cant wait for the R8.

14.5 mph of understeering, oversteering, burning out fun!! not many of the upgrades are in most stores yet so you'll have to wait for the customization part most of you but this is fun. far from toy as this thing had proportional throttle and steering, not full on or off or full left or full right. the particular on i got spun out(oversteered) when i turned particularly hard at full speed but moving the battery pack back putting more weight and thus traction on the rear wheels solved that.with actual brakes not just reverse you can do burnouts, and drift parking! remember to put the antenna on!
